It was a hot July day some where around 95 degrees add in the humidity and I'm sure it was over a 100 degrees.
I decide to had out just hoping someone was as crazy as me and just maybe there would be treasures. Never did I expect to meet up with the beast.
Now to some she may not be much, but you didn't have to lift the beast in and out of the van, but she's a beast alright.
The beast is dirty and needs a lot of TLC from someone.
She must of been someones work bench.
I am in the process of cleaning her up just a little water and soap ( don't forget the elbow grease).
Then off to the market where someone will see her as a kitchen island maybe with a marble top or a gorgeous wood grain top.
Me I 'm just the lucky picker who gets to call her mine till someone else decides to love the beast.
She'll be at the
Rare Bird Antique Mall til then.

would love that in my garden cottage as a potting bench! great piece!
ReplyDeleteOh wow that IS a wonderful piece! LOVE that red! Wish I was close enough!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Doni
The beast must weigh a ton! It would be great as an island.
ReplyDeleteI love this piece! Great find and you are right a lil soap, water and elbow grease is all she need! So glad you don't plan to strip away her paint and chippiness and history to paint her again!!! So many people does that and it drives me nuts!!!
ReplyDeleteFa * bu * lous!!!! It would be the perfect kitchen island, and some lucky person is going to buy it before you have it unloaded!
ReplyDeleteShe DOES look heavy, and I'm impressed with your brute strength as well as your tenacity! I love the look of her. She'd look good on casters, too. I'd love to see some more of your small stuff = you should show us more of your shop items. :) Who knows when someone who follows may be looking for it!

Lisa,
ReplyDeleteall I can say is fabulous! I love it! Perfect kitchen island! Went to the flea this weekend and came home with a $2.00 book! Guess I just wasn't into it. Did better at a few yard sales before I went, picked up a few small things.

OH I think your beast is a real beauty!! Great find! Thanks so much for your sweet comment on my magazine post!
ReplyDeleteI predict the beast won't be yours for long :) I can totally see the one being scooped up quickly. Fabulous find!
ReplyDeleteI think your beast is an absolute beauty!! LOVE the red!! I agree - she'll serve wonderfully as a kitchen island!! Hope all is well in your world.....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteA rare bird indeed! very fitting name for the shop...This beast looks fantastic. A very good scrubbing and a little TLC, like you said... I think it would be nice to preserve as much original as you could and just clear coat the whole thing! It seems almost perfect! A center island would be a great use for it! Pat
ReplyDeleteThat is one great find!

Love, love, love it. What a great find. I remember the days when I could use brute force and get those heavy things in my van. Unfortunately, my knee surgeon has told me no more heavy lifting. I am either going to have to strike up a friendship with some muscleman, or stick to the lighter stuff :(
ReplyDeletepity l'm so far away and in the wrong country entirely...l know what l would do with her...would go very well in my farm kitchen, a pale blue and white. Oh well, guess l shall have to go treasure hunting and find my own beast :-) Pam
ReplyDeleteShe might be a beast but what a beauty. I could even see her cleaned up and made into a kitchen island bench.
ReplyDeleteJust found you through Faded Charm and would love it if you'd consider popping over for a visit and linking up at Shabbilicious Friday ~ http://shabbyartboutique.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/shabbilicious-friday-link-party-august.html
I just laughed out loud at 'meet the beast' too funny.
